Sharing is caring!

Share information with parents

Sharing communication information at the earliest opportunity with parents and carers is essential. Information about what typical speech, language and communication looks like as well as tips for how adults can help can be found at the BDCT Children's Speech and Language Therapy page.

In the link, the information will explain strategies for parents to use to help support and develop their child’s communication skills. There is information and videos on Help with Understanding language, Help with Talking and Help with Social Interaction, as well as Stammering support.

The short videos give ideas of things to do during everyday routines and when playing with young children. Signpost parents/carers to the videos to focus on one or two strategies to try at a time with their child.
