Key contacts - Children's Social Care

For new referrals

If you are not sure whether a child is at risk, you can call us and discuss the circumstances. Bradford Children’s Services now has a dedicated practitioners’ advice and referral contact number.

Call 01274 433999 if you want to seek support and/or raise a concern about a child or a young person.

Opening hours:

Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm
Fridays 8.30am to 4.30pm

Out of office hours

Our Emergency Duty Team will continue to take emergency out of hours calls on 01274 431010.

Practitioners: share information or make a referral using our online forms.

 

Children/Families Who Have a Social Worker

Once a social worker has been allocated to the child/family you will be given their name and direct contact details of the worker whilst they are supporting the family.

If you are unable to contact the social worker you can contact Childrens Services switchboard on 01274 435600

Before making a referral

Prior to making a referral, all practitioners need to:

  • Speak with their Safeguarding Lead within their own organisation
  • Ask themselves “Have I/we done everything I/we can to help and support the family?”
  • Refer to the Continuum of Need document 
  • Contact the allocated Social Worker directly if Children’s Services are already working with the child or young person
