Hope4U financial advice

The Hope 4 U service is available to expectant and new parents across Bradford District and Craven. Support is provided by telephone with interpreting if required, to enable families to access a range of financial advice to those in need.

Services available

Priority services register - sometimes power cuts can happen which can be particularly worrying when you have a new baby or you have young children. We can register you onto the PSR, where you will be given a direct number to call if the power is cut and you will be kept informed on what is happening.

Maternity grants - we will check if you are entitled to receive the Healthy Start Vouchers or the Sure Start Maternity Grant and supply you with the forms to apply. At this exciting time, it can also be very expensive.  These schemes can help with vouchers for basic food and a £500 one-off grant to help with the costs.

Benefit Entitlement Check - this free service will check if you are receiving all benefits that you are entitled to.  Remember, benefit payments are not just for those not working, it depends on your circumstances. We can also check to see what benefits you would be entitled to if your circumstances are to change in the future.

Check your bills - we can help to check if you are on the best energy tariff and give you hints to lower your bills.  Depending on your situation, you may also qualify to lower your water bill, apply for Warm Home Discount or be eligible to apply for other grants from organisations.

How to refer

Any professional can refer or families can refer themselves. Hope 4 U will continue to provide support to the family for as long as they are required, throughout pregnancy and the first year following birth.
