Specialist Inclusion Project

The Specialist Inclusion Project is a team that specialises in researching, identifying, running and monitoring Short Breaks services for young people with disabilities aged 8 to 18 years throughout the Bradford District. These include after school, evening, weekend and half term Short Breaks. The team offer their own Short Breaks services including popular after school clubs based on dance and drama, supported swimming sessions and the Pineapples Summer Camp offering a 4 night residential during the Summer Holidays. The team also run the Link Work service which focuses on finding suitable and sustainable Short Breaks activities for young people with disabilities. These activities are based on each young person's choice made through a link work assessment which identifies their likes and hobbies. The team work closely with a wide selection of Short Breaks providers in the Bradford District to identify different activities and monitor their work to ensure a high level of service. The Specialist Inclusion Project consults with young people to capture theIR ever evolving wants and needs within Short Breaks. This consultation work also enables young people to have a voice within the funding of new Short Breaks provision to ensure it is wanted by the young people of the Bradford district.
