Family Action Perinatal Support Service
The Perinatal Support Service is for pregnant women who have, or are at risk of developing, mild to moderate mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.
We provide support to parents by providing a dedicated, trained ‘peer supporter’ who can offer emotional support and support to access services in your local community. We can support women throughout their pregnancy and up until their baby’s second birthday (the first 1001 days of a child's life).
We support families according to their needs and situation, through listening and emotional support and linking in with other specialist services and Family Hubs.
Who will benefit? Pregnant women or women with a child up to age 2, living in Bradford District, who have, or are at risk of, mild to moderate mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, low mood, feelings of isolation.
Where and when is it delivered? Most support is in the home but peer supporters may also accompany participants to group sessions at local venues or meet with parents outside the home. Support is tailored according to families’ needs.
Who provides it? This project is delivered by Family Action
How do families register?
