Royal Voluntary Service

Royal Voluntary Service is a national charity built on local volunteering, giving support to people who need it in our hospitals and communities.

When you become a volunteer, you're offering your time, talents and life experience. But you are also getting something in return: confidence, skills, friendship, as well as the satisfaction of helping others. You could be a friendly face in hospital, help run a lunch club or social club, or share skills such as using a computer. Whatever your 'something special' is, we'll match you with the best volunteering opportunity for you.

Anyone can volunteer their talents, skills and experience, whatever their age, gender, race or cultural background. While many people choose to volunteer after they have retired, it's also a great way for students to gain experience and take a break from their studies. Our short-term voluntary opportunities also mean that you can give as much or as little as you want.

Start something new - become a volunteer coordinator
So, do you like making things happen? Want to turn your passion into action? Why not become a volunteer coordinator and start a new activity group in your local community. You can do it on your own with a friend, or as part of a team and it can be anything from a dining club, arts and crafts or yoga class, to just about anything else you can think of.
