The Audiology service provided by Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is a comprehensive service that delivers adult and children’s assessment, hearing aid management and on-going rehabilitation and support. We deliver a full service in both hospital and community clinics. The department is able to assess and manage patients who are complaining of hearing loss and tinnitus difficulties. We are able to offer quality care to patients suffering from these conditions. We offer a direct referral service from GP’s and other health professionals as well as Choose and Book service for hearing loss, we also a direct referral service from GP’s and via Choose & Book for Tinnitus management. Who is it for? We have the knowledge, skills and resources in the Audiology Service to be able to deliver a quality care to patients suffering with hearing loss and / or Tinnitus, including tinnitus assessment and management. We assess your hearing levels and the problems associated with this. We are able to provide advice and information on your hearing and develop an individual management plan with the aim to fitting the patient with a hearing aid (s). We also offer help, support and advice for family members. We provide the latest digital hearing aids and offer an in depth, full after care programme. We also provide deaf awareness training packages for the hospital wards and care homes. Service developments are driven through feedback from patients via regular patient satisfaction questionnaires and a ‘comments’ box in the department. Via your own GP, we also see patients referred from ENT (Ear Nose & Throat) doctors and other medical professionals, including Heath Visitors and School nurses etc. If you are fitted with a hearing aid, then you can access our department directly and we readily have appointments available from 08:15 to 17:30, Monday to Friday at Airedale, we also offer appointments at our out-reach community clinics - these are booked via the Audiology Department at Airedale. Who will patients meet? When you arrive for your Audiology appointment, you will be greeted by a Receptionist and will meet an Audiologist at each appointment. Any procedure you are asked to undertake will be fully explained beforehand and verbal consent will be requested. If hearing aids are required we offer the latest, high quality digital hearing aid and an individual management plan will be developed, which will be tailored to each patients’ specific needs. We can maintain your hearing aids regularly and will update and review hearing aid prescriptions when required. Where is the service provided? Appointments for adult audiology clinics are available at Airedale General Hospital, at Bingley Canalside Surgery, Grassington Health Centre, Ilkley Coronation Hospital, Keighley Health Centre, Settle Health Centre, Skipton General Hospital.
