City Library
City Library can hold up to 60,000 books, 40 computers, a range of newspapers and free Wi-Fi
Library staff are on hand to help people with their choice of books, answer information enquiries and help people gain IT skills. There are events and learning sessions for various groups. You can also use self service kiosks to issue and return books and DVDs.
Regular events at City Library include:
Job club - Unemployed people actively seeking work can drop into our free work clubs where they can learn basic computer skills, create or update their CV, log onto Universal Jobmatch, and set up an email account.
Learn My Way - IT courses for absolute beginners. Click here for more information on the content of these courses.
Rhyme time and story time - a great way to introduce young children to libraries. They can join and take out books on their own library card, and they can become members of the Bookstart Bear Club. These sessions are fun! Parents, carers and young children have an opportunity to socialise before and after every session.
