Home Start Craven

Home Start Craven provides informal help, friendship, advice and support to parents with at least one child under the age of five.

Trained volunteers support parents who may be experiencing difficult times, may feel isolated, coping with illness or disability, children with special educational needs, and/or multiple births. We provide confidential support to families in a gentle and friendly manner - we like to think our support is that of a good friend offering an extra pair of hands. Our volunteers are fully trained and DBS checked. They can support you at home, or within the community, once a week for two hours for as long as you feel you need them.

Support can simply be: having a listening ear each week; someone to help get on top of the home; help establish routines; accompany you to groups/appointments or help reduce isolation etc. Families do not need to feel that they have hit rock bottom before they access our service, it may simply be that a helping hand is needed.

Home Start Craven generally support families in the Skipton and South Craven areas.
